The Dears - not The Smiths

The first time I heard “Lost in the Plot” by The Dears, I was almost certain they were doing a cover of something from The Smiths that I had heard back in the 80’s. After several Google searches, I was baffled. It turns out that the Dears can sound a lot like The Smiths at times. Yes, I am sure you have heard the “Smiths” comparison of before, but the similarity of frontman vocals Murray Lightburn to Morrissey with the Smiths is too close to ignore.
Either way, The Dears play some good dramatic rock songs with vocals that are very easy on the ears.
