Magic Bullets - New Order meets Arcade Fire

Magic Bullets
I first heard of San Francisco sextet Magic Bullets on 3Hive.com. About 1/2 year later I am finally getting back to them and realized how much I like this group. These guys exude that 80’s New Order type of feel, yet bring the current style of free-flowing indie pop. Their debut album “a CHILD but in life yet a DOCTOR in love” came out early last year and is quite amazing.

Check out these songs off of their debut album. You’ll find it is easy to listen to these over and over.

Dear Santa: Spoon, Arcade Fire, Beastie Boys

Ya that’s right, here is what Santa brought SidVision this year. SidVision’s list was very long, but these are the 3 CD’s that Santa determined we need in our collection. These albums are well rounded, pure listening delicious-ness from begining to end.

- Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga
Spoon Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga
Another great album from . I am sure you have heard “underdog” a hundred times by now. We shared the video of my favorite song off this album in the Don’t you evah post. Check out these other songs off of the album. They both remind me of a cool mixture of the 80’s sounds of Squeeze and Tom Petty.

Spoon - My Little Japanese Cigarette Case
Spoon - Eddie’s Ragga

- Neon Bible
Arcade Fire Neon Bible
My favorite album to date. “No Cars Go” has been a bit overplayed but it still a great song. We reviewed the cover of “Keep The Car Running” by in our Foo Fighters - Arcade Fire post. Check out these other songs off of that album. Both are dramatic and addicting.

Arcade Fire - Black-Mirror
Arcade Fire - The Well and the Lighthouse

- The Mix-Up
Beastie Boys The Mix-up
I had heard that this album wasn’t as widely accepted by fans, but I love it. An all instrumental album, it is quite funky and soothing. Check out “Electric Worm” for a good taste.
