OK, where in the world did the summer go. I haven’t had time to post anything for a month. SidVision will get its act together real quicklike. Until then enjoy an entertaining video from one of the most talented DJs out there. This guy can scratch and has been doing it for a long time. This video is a bit whimsical, but don’t let that fool you. Q-Bert is a sick mad sratchin’ genius that can throw-down with the best of them.
I think UNKLE will always be in my top 5 - music artists of all time. Their new album War Stories (label : Surrender All). begins with an amazing collectable CD Case and an even more amazing 50-page booklet filled with great artwork, photography, sketches, illustrations, etc. Check out some of the artwork HERE AT SLEEVAGE. Amazing artwork created and assembled by Robert Del Naja of Massive Attack.
This album doesn’t dissappoint, just like any other UNKLE album. Creative, musical, dramatic, soul driving, rockin’, alluring. Take a look at the video below of their song “Burn My Shadow” off of War Stories. The song features Ian Astbury of The Cult, video directed by Miguel Sapochnik, starring ER’s very own Goran Visnjic.
UNKLE, which initialy inlcuded another favorite of mine - DJ Shadow and was part created by Tim Goldsworthy, is currently made up of Richard File and James Lavelle. James Lavelle is another great artist / DJ I follow and will write about in the near future. UNKLE has worked with many respected artists in the past years including Thom Yorke (Radiohead), Mike D (Beastie Boys), Badly Drawn Boy, Richard Ashcroft (The Verve), Ian Brown, Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age), Robert Del Naja (Massive Attack), and Mani (The Stone Roses, Primal Scream) among others.
