Luna, led by Dean Wareham of Galaxie 500, has been said to be influenced by the late sound of the Velvet Underground. I can definitely see some influence; however this group is a bit looser sounding and a lot more melodic.

It is hard to believe their 1994 Bewitched album is 13 years old. I still find myself itching for a Luna fix, and this album is the one I usually grab when that happens.

Take a listen to “California (All the Way)“. This lead song sets the pace and feel of the whole set.
